FAULT

Having installed Satori PaintFX the Satori CanvasFX and Satori PaintFX filters do not appear in the filter listing on the Photoshop plug-in compatible product.

SOLUTION

In order to work correctly there are two files that need to be installed to the root folder of the application being used (for example, Paint Shop Pro). This is the folder specified during the installation of the application. These files are

glcwind.dll and satsec.dll

If the root folder was not specified correctly during installation, or you installed the filters to Photoshop and now wish to use them in another product, you will need to copy the files to the required root folder. You can do this using the Windows Explorer, but you must enable display of all files types, as by default, DLL files are not displayed.

Using Windows Explorer, Select Tools/Folder Options. Select the View tab, and click Show Hidden Files and Folders. This will enable display of the DLL’s.

Now using Explorer, select the folder to which you installed the PaintFX filters. The required DLL files should be displayed somewhere in that folder. Copy (don’t Move, or the original installation will fail) these files to the Root folder of the application in which you want to enable the PaintFX plug-in.

Restart the application, and the filters should now be available.

You will need to repeat this process for all application in which you wish to use the PaintFX plug-ins. The files are not large so this will not cause too great a strain on disk space.
